Patrick Brown tours Newnham, meets future farmers at HELIX

Ripple Farms

Patrick Brown, leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario and Leader of the Official Opposition, visited Newnham Campus on March 9th, 2017. David Agnew, Seneca President, provided a tour of the campus including the Mechatronics Simulation and Demonstration Centre, the flight simulator and a stop at our HELIX business incubator. It was there that Mr. Brown, above left, met with Green Business Management grads Brandon Hebor and Steven Bourne who’ve used their Seneca education and HELIX participation to launch Ripple Farms. Their sustainable farming initiative uses aquaculture (raising fish) and hydroponics (soil-less plant cultivation) to produce organic food in urban settings.
