With campuses throughout the Greater Toronto Area, Seneca’s size and diversity give students the advantage of partnerships with industry leaders, the latest in hands-on computer technology, and a variety of class sizes and methods of teaching – from in-class lectures and online learning to co-op and field placements – in applied arts, business, health sciences, and technology.

Real Education for Real Careers

Leading areas of study include biotechnology, business, computer studies and health sciences. Seneca’s accounting and finance, aviation, early childhood education, environmental, electronic engineering, fashion, fire protection, international business and marketing, law, and 3D digital animation programs have received national and international acclaim.

In addition to leading edge diploma, post-diploma and graduate certificate programs, Seneca offers five bachelor degrees. Seneca’s bachelor degree programs offer students high quality education that responds directly to employer demands. Our Flight Training (Pilot), Environmental, Nursing, Software Development and Financial Services Management programs are rigorous, specialized bachelor degrees that combine practical hands-on experience with a solid theoretical foundation and include a co-op component to ensure students get work experience before graduation.

Since 1967, Seneca College has provided a foundation of success for such notable alumni as Canadian Senator, Vivienne Poy; Deputy Executive Vice President, Nestlé S.A., and CEO of Nestlé Professional, Marc Caira; and CTV television host Beverly Thomson.

Meeting the Needs of the Global Marketplace

With the largest enrolment of international students attending college in Canada, and more than 75 countries represented in Seneca’s student population, the college embodies the diverse cultural mosaic of Toronto. Seneca’s strong international reputation has attracted the attention of educational institutions worldwide, resulting in agreements to utilize Seneca curricula in classrooms throughout Europe, Pacific Asia, and Latin America.

Joint programs and transfer agreements with universities and other colleges in Canada and around the world provide the opportunity for students to earn both a diploma and a degree. Seneca has agreements with such institutions as the University of British Columbia, Cape Peninsula University in South Africa, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, University of Toronto, and University of Western Sydney in Australia.

Charting a Course for the Future

Growing to meet the needs of students today and in the future, Seneca’s Newnham Campus now features a new Faculty of Business building, a new Learning Commons and specialized business education centres. The new Technology Enhanced Learning Building adjoining the Seneca@York Campus has opened its doors to advancing the use of technology in education, and a new Markham campus will house programs from a variety of the college’s faculties.

Number of Students

Seneca College has approximately 90,000 part-time and 17,000 full-time students. With more than 100,000 students, Seneca is Canada’s largest college.


Apartment-style residences at Newnham and King Campuses accommodate a total of 1,346. Housing Services assists students in finding accommodations near all campuses.

Availability of Co-op Education

Co-operative programs give Seneca students the opportunity to integrate their college education with real world experience before graduation.

Some programs offer co-op options, while others include a mandatory co-op period prior to graduation.

All Seneca College programs are designed and kept current with the assistance of academic advisory committees. These committees, made up of Seneca’s academic advisors and key industry members, ensure students receive the education necessary for career success.

Policies on University Transfers

Seneca College has more than 70 transfer agreements with universities throughout the world including countries such as Australia, Canada, England, South Africa, and the U.S.A. These agreements allow our students to apply their college education to obtain credit towards a university degree.

Institutions with which Seneca has transfer agreements include: University of British Columbia, University of Calgary, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, University of Guelph, University of Western Sydney in Australia and York University. These cover diverse program areas including Human Resources Management, Real Property Administration, Aviation, Nursing, and Biochemistry.
