Class of 2016

Leo Tapel (GRA '16)

Leo Tapel

During Leo’s last semester at Seneca, he received an opportunity to become an intern at FLARE Magazine, one of Canada's top fashion magazines. During his time there, he was able to further enhance his skills, learned how the industry works, and made great professional connections. The internship only lasted for two months, but a few weeks after his contract ended, Leo received yet another opportunity to become a freelance designer at Flare which he happily accepted.

By May 2016, Leo received an offer to become a full-time designer at FLARE. Just before graduating, he was able to find and secure a job and that’s all because of Seneca's internship program that Leo is very thankful for. Without this, he wouldn't have been able to make the connections he did and land this great opportunity.

Abdullah also worked part time as a Lab Assistant at Seneca’s York University Campus, which gave him an additional layer of experience and understanding that he could apply towards his program and additional life skills such as troubleshooting and time management.

After finishing his program, Abdullah started applying for different jobs and received several offers thanks in large part to his studies at Seneca. He is now working with Ricoh Canada applying his knowledge. He thanks his professors especially for contributing towards his amazing journey.
