“My goal in life is to become a refugee and human rights lawyer. People like you help dreamers like me achieve their dreams.”
– Aysegul Karakucuk, Social Service Worker – Immigrants and Refugees, 2015
If you’ve recently made a donation to support students following in your footsteps, please accept my sincere thanks. If you haven’t yet done so, I hope I can convince you to make a donation -- especially as today is Giving Tuesday.
Aysegul Karakucuk is an inspiring Senecan. She is an alumna of the Immigrants and Refugees stream of the Social Service Worker program. Aysegul’s dream is to help refugees, fighting for their human rights in the courtroom.
Aysegul received an award funded by donations from Seneca alumni.
Aysegul is inspirational because she lives her values. We were all horrified by the images we saw from Syria earlier this year. Our staff and students joined together to raise funds to help. These tragedies have only strengthened Aysegul’s resolve. She continued to develop the knowledge she needs to make a significant and lasting impact for refugees in Canada and around the world.
Our Immigrants and Refugees program is the only one of its kind in Canada, and we are very proud of its students and alumni. Students choose this program because they want to help others have a better life and make our world a better place. We have many courses like that at Seneca. We strive to help our students become good global citizens. Aysegul shows that we are succeeding.
Please make a donation to support Seneca students. Your gift will definitely help students like Aysegul, but it could also impact the lives of thousands more through the work she will do during her career.
There is no better investment you can make in people this GivingTuesday. Please give now.
Thank you for your support.
