The Newcomer Award in Honour of Jack & Ann Talesnick

When Stan and his sister Naomi's mother passed away in 2010, they wanted to do something to publicly honour their parents, Jack and Ann Talesnick, and decided to establish an award for Seneca students.

As the children and grandchildren of immigrants, Stan and Naomi were surrounded by the "immigrant experience." Naomi became a mentor and advisor for immigrants in the financial sector, and Stan has been a driving force in Seneca's efforts to integrate immigrants into the work force.

Stan’s and Naomi’s passion for their work and their heritage led to their decision to honour their family with the "Newcomer Award” for Seneca students.

The Newcomer Award in Honour of Jack & Ann Talesnick is awarded to any full-time or part-time student who is designated as a permanent resident with honour-list standing in at least one semester. May be awarded as an in-course or graduating award.
