Signing Up

How do I sign up for the event?

Register using the link provided in the e-vite you received by email.

Do I need LinkedIn to participate?

No, you do not need to have LinkedIn to participate. Registering with LinkedIn is an alternative to creating an account so that you don’t have an additional email/password combination to remember.

Will I get a reminder?

When you sign up for the event, you will receive a confirmation email after completing the registration process. You will also receive reminder emails 1 week, 24 hours, and 2 hours prior to the event. Be sure to check your junk mail for these emails.

Participating

Can I get in multiple lines at once?

You can wait to chat in multiple booths at one time. You will be placed into the first available chat. Once you are in a chat, your position in the other booths will be held while you are chatting.

Can I choose who I chat with?

Chats are paired randomly within whatever booth(s) you have selected. The type of connection varies by event. Depending on the nature of the event you may be paired with a peer, or an industry expert. If you do not feel that you have anything to talk about with the person you are paired with, you can politely excuse yourself and move to the next chat. However, you may end up getting paired with someone that can help you in ways that you never expected!

What do I do when I am connected with someone?

Start chatting right away! After introducing yourself, you can ask some starter questions like:

  • What did you study at Seneca?
  • What do you do professionally?
  • What are you looking to provide or gain from this event?
  • If you could do one thing differently in your career, what would it be?
  • What's the best piece of advice you received during your college career?
  • Or, ask for advice on a specific topic of interest.

Can I extend my chat time?

All chat times are set. You can feel free to follow up with the person via LinkedIn or email if they provide that to you.

Post-Event

Can others see my transcripts or conversation ratings?

After each chat, you will be asked to score your interaction and provide some notes to help you remember your conversation when the event is over. Those scorings and notes are completely private, only visible for you to see when you log into the Brazen platform. In addition, you will be able to see your complete transcript of each conversation.

How will I know about the next event?

Emails will be sent to alumni and announcements will be made on the Seneca Alumni website. Be sure to check the news feed on our site regularly for upcoming event information.

How can I share my opinion about the event?

You will receive a brief survey via email after the event. You can also email alumni@senecacollege.ca if you have any further comments or questions.
