Second Career - Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I find a list of Second Career Programs? What programs are eligible for Second Career?

Please see our website for a complete list of full-time programs. When considering a program of interest, the Ministry’s guidelines dictate that study must be full time for a duration of 6 months to 2 years. Seneca College does not have any programs dedicated solely to Second Career, nor can we determine if a program will be approved by the Ministry or not. The final decision rests with the Ministry and is highly dependent on your own individual case.

Is it too late to get an acceptance letter for a program starting September 2012?

No, programs are still accepting applications for Fall 2012. While you may qualify for entry into a program, ensure there is enough time to process your application at the Ministry for approval. Please check with your case manager or government counsellor for an estimated timeline.

Please see the Program Availability page to determine if a program is still open and accepting applications.

How do I get an acceptance letter?

In order to get an acceptance letter from Seneca College, you must meet all admission requirements of the program of interest. You must then apply online via Ontario Colleges. There is a non-refundable $95.00 fee that allows you to apply to 5 different programs over the span of the academic year (September 2012 to August 2013).

For more detailed information on how to apply, please see www.senecac.on.ca/careerchange/how-to-apply.html.
