Overview

To acquire and maintain the knowledge and skill required to execute such tasks, Seneca College is offering Employee Relocation Management – CERC Program. These courses are brought to students in partnership with the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC), which was founded in 1982 and remains the leading provider of information and professional education to the relocation industry.

This program would be of interest to those involved in the relocation process such as those employed in or interested in employment as a Human Resource Professional, Relocation Specialist or Real Estate Professional. Graduates of this program would achieve the designation of CERC Relocation Specialist or CERP Canadian Employee Relocation Professional.

This program is designed to meet the education needs of two main groups: Individuals who are new to the employee relocation, human resources and real estate industries and need to acquire new skills and knowledge to become more employable; and those who are currently working in employee relocation, human resources and real estate, but wish to upgrade their skills and knowledge to advance their career.

Entry Requirements

  • ERM101 – Introduction to Relocation: No entry requirements.
  • ERM102 – Essential of Domestic Relocation: Successful completion of Introduction to Relocation (ERM101) and membership in CERC
  • ERM103 – Essential of International Relocation: Successful completion of Essentials of Domestic Relocation (ERM102) and membership in CERC

Introduction to Relocation

This course, Introduction to Relocation is the first course in this series and is a prerequisite to Levels II and III for those who wish to go on to obtain the CERP or CGMP designations. This course is intended to broadly cover every aspect of the relocation process and to enhance student's current knowledge. It is ideal for those beginning a career in the relocation profession.

ERM102
Essentials of Domestic Relocation

Prerequisite(s):

ERM101 - Introduction to Relocation

This course will help you develop the necessary skills to establish and administer an effective domestic relocation program that addresses the human dynamics of a move, while meeting the business objectives of the organization.

ERM103
Essentials of International Relocation

Prerequisite(s):

ERM101 - Introduction to Relocation
ERM102 - Essentials of Domestic Relocation
Membership in CERC

In this level course you will apply the skills learned from domestic relocation to the complexities of international relocation, as well as broaden your appreciation of human dynamics, repatriation, taxation and immigration. ERM103 provides you with the knowledge and tools necessary to manage an effective relocation program for any organization.

Please note: Upon successful completion of ERM101 with a minimum grade of 70%, you will have earned certification as a CERC Relocation Specialist. 

All Employee Relocation Management courses combine theory, practical exercises, and case studies relevant in day-to-day operations. These courses are accredited by the Canadian Employee Relocation Council (CERC), written and taught by industry professionals with real-world knowledge and experience.
