CAM902 - CNC Programming - Basic

Prerequisites:

ABP094, MTH100 and one semester of MAC090 or proven industrial experience that includes knowledge of conventional vertical milling machine or faculty approval.

This course introduces students to basic 'G'-code CNC programming. The learning experience is enhanced by an instructional software package and related learning materials. Students learn to write basic NC programs, with common 'G' and 'M' codes, using the simulator package to determine the value of the output. This also allows students to read and interpret existing NC files and codes generated by CAM software such as MasterCam. Seneca College provides instruction in a well-equipped computer lab. This course does not include instruction on machine set-up or basic machining principles. Seneca College does not provide students with copies of MasterCam software
