This course emphasizes the concepts and principles to be considered in the development, implementation and management of life, health and other group benefits provided by employers and unions. Among the topics covered are group insurance fundamentals, general design issues, mathematics of insurance, the pricing process, underwriting and funding methods, administration, communication and ethics.
This course relies heavily on insurance based content and is part of the body of knowledge of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits required for the Group Benefit Associate (GBA) and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designations.
