EMP404 - Health Care Economics and Issues

This course introduces an understanding of the field of health economics, developing a working knowledge and analysis of the factors affecting health care services, their financing and statistical tools used in health care economics. An analysis of health care reforms in Canada as well as from other countries is presented.
A key objective of the course is better understand how decision makers throughout the health economy make choices and is part of the body of knowledge of the International Foundation of Employee Benefits required for the Group Benefit Associate (GBA) and Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designations.
