Trail Running Workshop

This one-day workshop is a combination of informative presentations and practical workout sessions designed to develop the skills and confidence to transition fitness clients to off-road trail running safely. The focus of this clinic is to look at the basics of movement involved in trail running. By understanding and incorporating the fundamental attributes of trail running, you can train clients to perform more efficiently and powerfully in outdoor settings. Students should wear workout attire, be in good physical condition to participate and bring a notebook and pen.

Boxfit for Fitness Instructors

Prerequisite(s):
  • Ability to participate in practical exercises is recommended.
  • Boxing equipment, such as a skipping rope, hand wraps and gloves, are recommended.

Learn the art of boxing without stepping foot in the ring and how to incorporate "the sweet science" into a fitness class. In this workshop designed for prospective fitness instructors, beginner-intermediate level, students will learn boxing fundamentals, combat fitness exercises, and will participate in an instructor-led boxfit/combat fitness class.

Circuit Training for Fitness Instructors

Prerequisite(s):
  • Some knowledge of a variety of exercises is recommended.
  • Some knowledge of training and coaching techniques is recommended.
  • Ability to participate in practical exercises is recommended.

Circuit training is widely used in many fitness establishments for total body conditioning. Using a variety of high-intensity aerobic exercises, this type of training helps improve cardiovascular fitness and muscle endurance and can be modified for all fitness levels and various training goals. In this workshop designed for prospective fitness instructors, beginner-intermediate level, students will learn how to effectively develop and execute a circuit training class and participate in a full circuit training class with instructor guidance.
