Fundamental Acting Techniques I

This course offers a practical approach to acting whether it is for film, TV or theatre. Students receive a basic understanding of the demands placed on the actor: vocal, physical and creative. They learn basic disciplines in acting, including concentration, observation, imagination, communication, and the beginnings of monologue work.

Fundamental Acting Techniques II
Availability
 

Prerequisite(s):

FNA910 (grade of B or higher) or approval of the coordinator

Acting Techniques II is an intensification of Techniques I (FNA910). Students will apply their knowledge and techniques on an intermediate level and will focus primarily on monologue and scene work.

Prerequisite(s):

There are no prerequisites.

Improvisational exercises and games pioneered by Viola Spolin, Stanislavsky and others, are covered and used to explore comic and dramatic modes: working spontaneously and creatively; making strong acting choices quickly.
