Seneca College is pleased to cooperate with Celestica - Performance Innovation for IPC certification courses. Celestica is an IPC Authorized Training Center. Training is conducted by Celestica in cooperation with Seneca College. The training leads to industry recognized IPC certification in IPC-A-610, "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies" and IPC-7711/7721, "Rework, Repair and Modification" Standards at operator and trainer level for individuals currently employed or seeking future employment in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) assembly related industries. Successful students will be issued joint Seneca/Celestica Recognition of Completion along with the corresponding IPC certification.

Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) A610

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Ideal candidates for this course include Production Operators, Inspectors, Technicians, Process Engineers, and Quality Control, Manufacturing and Management Personnel, as well as anyone wishing to comprehend the proper explanation and interpretation of the requirements of the IPC-A-610.

The IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Application Specialist Course is an extensive three (3) day review of the IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Standard. The course consists of nine modules: 2 mandatory and 7 optional, as per curriculum developed by IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries. At the conclusion of each module, the students will be subjected to open and/or closed book examination.

IPC120
Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) A610

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Ideal candidates for this course include those responsible for training and/or quality with a background in electronic assemblies and the ability to teach the IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist Course.

The IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Trainer Training & Certification Course trains, tests and certifies future instructors on the IPC-A-610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies Standard, using the industry developed, recognized, approved and traceable training material provided by the Association Connecting Electronics Industries. At the conclusion of the course, students will complete open and closed book written exams. Students who successfully complete this course are awarded an IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Trainer Certification, and are authorized to conduct the Certified IPC Application Specialist (CIS) Course.
Note: Training is conducted by Celestica in cooperation with Seneca college.

IPC200
Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) 7711/7721

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Prospective students should have advanced level experience in rework and repair, good hand dexterity and eye acuity.

The IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialist Course is an advanced rework, repair and modification course which provides students hands on training in wire splicing, rework of PTH and SMT components, repair of damaged/ lifted land/ pad, conductor traces, damaged/burned laminate surfaces and removal of conformal coating.
The modularized design of this course allows students to start with the most common modules and build upon their certification with other modules as required. Students must rework, repair and modify acceptable workmanship samples.

Certified IPC Trainer 7711/7721

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Ideal candidates should have a background in electronic assembly, good hand dexterity, and have been tasked to conduct the IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Specialist Certification Course.

The IPC-7711/7721 Certified IPC Trainer Course is a comprehensive five (5) day course addressing review of the Standards and hands-on training of Rework and Repair Techniques for Printed Boards and Electronic Assemblies. At the conclusion of the course, students complete written examinations and must rework, repair and modify acceptable workmanship samples. Students who successfully complete this course are awarded an IPC-7711/7721Certified IPC Trainer Certification and are authorized to conduct the Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) Course.

Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) J-STD-001

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Prospective students should have soldering experience, good hand dexterity and eye acuity.

This CIS course is modularized, consisting of 5 separate modules: General Requirements, Wires and Terminals, Pin-Through-Hole, Surface Mount and Inspection Technologies. The ideal candidates wish to expand their comprehension of J-STD-001 and/or receive verification of hand soldering skills.

Certified IPC Trainer (CIT) J-STD-001

Prerequisite(s):

Recommended: Ideal candidates should have a background in electronic assembly, excellent soldering skills and being tasked to conduct J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist Certification Course.

This CIT course is a comprehensive course providing a review of the document and hands-on soldering training addressing: Wire Preparation, Terminals, Through Hole and Surface Mount Technologies. Ideal candidates should have a background in electronic assembly, good hand dexterity and tasked to conduct the CIS course.

IPC WHMA A620 CIS Certified IPC Application Specialist

Prerequisite(s):

The ideal candidates for this course are Production Operators, Technicians, Quality Control, Manufacturing and Process Engineers and Management personnel who desire to comprehend the proper explanation and interpretation of the requirements of IPC/WHMA-A-620

The IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified IPC Specialist training consists of eight (8) separate modules, 7 of which are optional, of paragraph-by-paragraph review of IPC/WHMA-A-620. (IPC/WHMA-A-620 describes acceptability criteria for crimped, mechanically secured and soldered interconnection and the corresponding lacing/restraining criteria associated with cable and harness assemblies.) At the conclusion of each module, students are subjected to open book written exams.
