CAM201 - Computer Assisted Machining
MTH201 - Technical Mathematics I
This course will build on the skills acquired in MTH101. It further develops the student?s ability to solve complex practical shop problems as they relate to the metal machining trades. The main focus is in the areas of geometry and trigonometry.
Equivalent to MTH100 offered in part-time studies.
SHP201 - Shop
This course builds on the machining skills introduced in SHP101. Projects have been designed to broaden the students machining skills while allowing the participants to develop further machining techniques.
THY201 - Machining Theory
In order to manufacture parts efficiently, it is necessary to have an understanding of how to machine a wide variety of materials, using equipment commonly found in a machine shop. This course complements THY101 and builds a solid theoretical foundation from which students may develop good machining skills and techniques. Learning opportunities in this subject are derived from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities In-school Curriculum.
TLD201 - Tool Design
This subject will cover the planning and designing of a variety of dies, jigs, fixtures and molds. There will also be an overview of how CAD (Computer Aided Design) software that is changing the modern manufacturing environment.
