Effective coaching and leadership skills will prepare students for managerial positions in the cosmetic industry. Students will perfect skills such as communicating effectively, resolving conflict, motivating employees and understanding personality styles for the purpose of maximizing their potential as well as that of their team.

COB218 - Retail Management Systems

This subject provides an overview of the retail math principles a Beauty Advisor may encounter as they operate a business within the beauty industry. Concepts such as inventory management, measuring employee productivity and budgeting will be covered. Students will develop the ability to analyze and problem solve, based on these calculations.

COS114 - Skin Care I

This subject provides an overview of the histology of the skin including the structure, function and disorders of the skin. Emphasis will be placed on factors that affect the condition of the skin such as diet, medication, sun exposure, allergies as well as the analysis and treatment of various skin types and conditions. Students will also be introduced to various retail skin care products that are currently available, learning the correct procedures for skin treatment and basic facials.

COS226 - Runway and Screen Makeup Techniques

The student will expand their knowledge of makeup techniques used by the professional makeup artist to improve their ability to sell makeup products to the customer.  Professional makeup products, tools and techniques used in bridal, fashion, film and television will be studied.  Practical workshops will allow the student to apply the related theories learned, to enhance basic skills and further develop their creative artistic ability.
