EAC150 - College English

College English is an introductory college writing and reading course fundamental to successful college studies. Through a variety of assignments and classroom activities, students will strive to develop the rhetorical and analytical skills essential to their success as communicators in college and upon graduation. Fiction and non-fiction will be a central vehicle for teaching writing.

PRE-REQUISITES: EAC149, EAP500, ESL934, ELI Level 8 or placement based on a Seneca College English Skills Assessment

IDP100 - Photography I - Fundamentals

Photography I will introduce students to the technical and artistic world of digital photography. Students will learn to use the camera as a visualization tool for understanding light and composition. Using standard principles of design and composition within a frame, students will compose, shoot and analyze images taken with digital cameras. 3 hours

IDP102 - Colour Theory

This comprehensive colour theory course will include both technical and artistic applications of colour for print and multi-media. Emphasis will be placed on the physical, psychological and optical properties of colour. Students will learn how to control the final appearance of print, transparency, and video products by means of the controls and options provided by computer software packages and how these interact with the final production processes.

IDP103 - Photography Business I

This is an introductory course to small business practices and principles for photographers.

IDP104 - History of Imaging

This course takes a look at the visually rich history of photography from the 1800's to the present. As the class evolves over the semester, student will learn how photography has been used as a commercial tool as well as a powerful creative outlet.

IDP105 - Creativity I

Creativity is at the heart of all artistic endeavours. This course will look at different ways to tap into our creativity and will give students the tools necessary to develop and implement their own creative perspectives. Visual problem solving and "thinking outside the box" approaches to imaging will be explored.

IDP111 - Digital Imaging I

This course will introduce students to digital imaging and compositing of photographic and illustrated images. Scanning and the manipulation of images for various media will be discussed and applied to various projects. Colour management and digital workflow practices will be introduced.
