FSM200 - Financial Services Products

This subject introduces the principles of insurance, including the insurance process and contractual rights of the policyowner. The common products and services provided by the various entities in the financial services sector are introduced. The student also becomes familiar with prospectus and contract documents. The regulatory environment is reviewed, as are the general costing and pricing methodology of insurance products. Students will be prepared to write the LOMA 280 examination upon completion of this subject.

FSM341 - Mortgage Financing and Consumer Credit

The focus of this course is processes associated with consumer credit, residential mortgage administration and underwriting. The course will focus on the tools needed to assess the financial viability of an individual's mortgage and/or loan request and will provide exposure to the procedures followed by financial institutions should borrowers experience financial difficulties in meeting their debt requirements.

It focuses on the individual, looks at the dynamics of teams and covers some of the challenges inherent in a business environment.
