IDP200 - Photography II - Studio

This is the introduction to working in the studio. Equipment covered ranges from hand held light meters, studio flash equipment, tungsten lighting, related lighting modifiers, various grip equipment, background stands etc. They will be instructed on assembly of lighting soft boxes as well as care and safe operation of all equipment, industry standard safety practices and studio etiquette. Through demonstrations and hands on supervised practice, students will learn how to work extensively with studio strobes including controlling power output levels to achieve their vision. Tungsten lighting is used independently and in combination with studio strobes.

IDP202 - Digital II

This course will introduce the student to the creative use of Photoshop. Image manipulation and compositing techniques will be covered as well as portrait retouching, advanced colour correction and how digital imaging is used to create and design various types of images.

IDP203 - Photography Business II

The course material presented in Business 2 will cover the fundamentals of ?critical path thinking' providing the student with a skill set of good commercial writing, problem solving and the power of constructive and collaborative teamwork. It covers marketing, negotiating, business writing, business proposals, planning your business and promoting your photographic practice.  IDP203  presents some of the basic life skills required to conduct business in the photographic industry.

IDP204 - Wedding and Event Photography

Wedding and event photography is a very challenging aspect of photography.  In this subject, students will gain experience and knowledge in technical skills, equipment concerns and marketing techniques.

IDP206 - Photojournalism

A picture is worth a thousand words. Telling the story with an image takes discipline, knowledge, and a great deal of research and time in the field. This course will explore the world of photojournalism and documentary photography.
