Former Seneca professor receives jubilee medal

John McIntyre, a retired Seneca Professor, received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal for his ongoing volunteer work in his hometown of Aurora.

John has worked tirelessly to preserve and share the history of this scenic York Region town, located just 30 minutes north of Toronto, through his work with the Aurora Historical Society, Sharon Temple Museum and many other organizations.
Newmarket-Aurora MP Lois Brown presented the medal to John at a ceremony held at the York Region administrative centre in Newmarket.

John worked at Seneca for 30 years. He started teaching at the College in 1975 and served as the Chair of the School of English and Liberal Studies at Seneca@York from 2001 until his retirement in 2005.
