Seneca's Human Resources students Lennex Szeto, Rachael Iles, Alexandra Coleman and Natalie Pedrosa have advanced to the next stage of the Walmart Green Student Challenge.
More than 160 teams signed up to take part in this national contest that challenged all post-secondary students to showcase their best, most innovative green business solutions to Canada's top CEOs.
The first part of the competition required each team to sign-up at the Green Student Challenge website to create community support for their green idea.
Seneca’s team received more than 8,000 website visits and hundreds of comments and votes. They finished second among 20 teams that were selected to compete in the next round and were the only college to make the cut.
The team now has to take their idea, which centres around how HR can create an environmentally sound and sustainable workplace, and write a full proposal for final judging.
The top five teams selected will then pitch their concept to a panel of Canada's top CEOs in Toronto on February 26.
