Students hear from waste diversion expert

Seneca students received a lesson in waste diversion from one of the province’s leading experts.

Michael Scott, the chief executive officer of Waste Diversion Ontario (WDO), visited Seneca recently to speak with a cross disciplinary group of students from the Green Business Management, Environmental Project Management, Environmental Technology and Business Management and General Business Management programs.

Mr. Scott discussed the role of WDO, which oversees Ontario's recycling programs for electrical and electronic equipment, used tires, Blue Box material, and household hazardous waste. As part of its oversight role, WDO also monitors program sustainability, effectiveness and efficiency.
