School of Media students create waves during radio visit

School of Media students

School of Media Professor Paula Todd took her class recently on a field trip to SiriusXM Radio as part of a journalism project to see a working newsroom, interact with staff and watch a live broadcast.

During the visit, some of the students were invited to speak live on the air on the Canada Talks channel about their own hopes for the future.

The students impressed the staff so much that Sirius is now in talks to offer Seneca much needed internship spots immediately.

Paula, who has been teaching at the College since 2012, is an independent journalist and lawyer. Her latest book, Extreme Mean, was one of the finalists for the 2014 Hilary Weston Writer’s Trust Prize for Nonfiction.
