Program connects grad to dream job

David Maiato has been part of several photos in his lifetime but this one captures a dream come true.

It’s a class picture of all the new fire inspectors hired by Toronto Fire Services. This has been David’s dream job since graduating from Seneca’s Fire Protection Engineering Technology program a few years ago. Making new friends on the job won’t be a problem for him either. As it turns out, 35 of the 39 new inspectors hired are all graduates of Seneca’s program, which is the leading North American program for fire prevention education.

“Our program is also the only one—outside of the Ontario Fire Marshall—allowed to offer certification courses recognized by the Ontario Fire Marshal,” said Derek Gruchy, program co-ordinator. “We are very proud of our graduates continued success and the industry's continued desire to hire students from our school.”
