Meet the 2011 Valedictorians

Alex Johnston has been selected as valedictorian for Seneca College’s convocation taking place on Thursday, June 23 at 2 p.m. at the Newnham Campus (1750 Finch Avenue East, Toronto).

Alex is graduating from Seneca’s Bachelor of Applied Technology – Flight program. Throughout his time at Seneca, Alex consistently demonstrated the highest scholastic achievement in the School of Aviation and Flight Technology. He was elected as class senior, initiated the Student Mentoring in Life and Education (SMILE) chapter in the School of Aviation and Flight Technology, was a member of the Aviation Safety Committee, and was elected Vice-President of the Markham Seneca Student Federation in 2010.

Alex has received countless academic and leadership awards for his involvement with and contribution to the Seneca community. These include the SMILE Mentoring Program Leadership Award, the Alumni Student Government Leadership Awards and the W.T Newnham Award, which is presented to a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in the enhancement of the quality of student life at Seneca College.

Alex recently began a job with AFS Aerial Photography out of London, Ontario.
