Valedictorian Shannon Chung

Shannon is graduating from the accelerated Paralegal diploma program with honours. After completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at York University, Shannon wanted to further her studies in a specialized field that would help her land a job. She decided to pursue her interest in law by enrolling in Seneca’s Paralegal program. After taking a Refugee Law course in second semester, Shannon was inspired to take a leadership role in Seneca’s newly formed Seneca Student Refugee Program. In this capacity, she helped recruit a team of student volunteers and led them in fundraising and advocacy efforts to support the sponsoring of a refugee student. Shannon hopes to continue supporting refugees, reuniting families and providing endless opportunity to those who want to immigrate to Canada by working as a Paralegal in the field of Immigration and Refugee Law.
