Meet the Spring 2016 Valedictorians

Carrie Ann Smith

Carrie is graduating from the Environmental Technology advanced diploma program. Prior to joining Seneca, Carrie had more than 10 years of experience as a management professional at IBM. Carrie decided to make a career change and enter a field where she could make a positive difference. She chose Seneca’s Environmental Technology program because she felt it would enable her to make an impact while also offering co-op opportunities to gain industry experience. During her time at Seneca, Carrie was committed to helping her fellow students. She tutored, mentored and assisted students, particularly those from Aboriginal communities and assisted with the launch of the Seneca Environmental Association. Carrie’s devotion and commitment to her field has earned her a contract with the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority as a field technician. Carrie is also studying part-time, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Practice degree from Royal Roads University.
