Seneca Program: Business Administration – Accounting & Financial Planning, Business Administration – International Business, Business, Business Administration – Management, Business Administration – Marketing, Business Administration – Human Resources

Degree: Bachelor of Administration, Honours Bachelor of Commerce

Bachelor of Administration Transfer Program (Thunder Bay or Orillia Campuses):

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Business Administration diploma programs with a minimum overall average of 70% in Business courses will be considered for admission to the third year of the Bachelor of Administration program. Graduates must complete one of the following majors at Seneca in order to be considered for the Bachelor of Administration: Accounting, Human Resources Management, Marketing, General Business and International Business. Graduates from these particular majors are not required to complete makeup courses prior to starting the degree program. Other majors not listed will be considered on an individual basis. The Bachelor of Administration transfer program can be completed in eight months (September to April). The Bachelor of Administration program is available at both the Thunder Bay Campus and the Orillia Campus.

Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration) Transfer Program (Orillia Campus):

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Business Administration diploma programs with a minimum overall average of 75 per cent in Business courses will be considered for admission to the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration Major) program at the Orillia Campus. The program can be completed in as little as two years.

Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration) Transfer Program (Orillia Campus):

Graduates of Seneca’s two-year Business diploma program with a minimum overall average of 75% will be considered for admission to the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Business Administration Major) program at the Orillia Campus. The program can be completed in as little as two years. All incoming students will have to complete a spring/summer bridging program in order to enter the fall term.

Bachelor of Administration Transfer Program (Thunder Bay Campus):

Graduates of Seneca’s two-year Business diploma program with a minimum overall average of 70% in Business courses will be considered for admission to the third year of the Bachelor of Administration program. The program can be completed in approximately one year at the Thunder Bay Campus. All incoming students will have to complete a spring/summer bridging program in order to enter the fall term. 

Honours Bachelor of Commerce Transfer Program (Thunder Bay Campus):

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Business Administration diploma programs with a minimum overall average of 75% in Business courses will be considered for admission to the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce program. Graduates do not need to complete specific majors in order to be considered for the Honours Bachelor of Commerce college transfer program. The program can be completed in two years of study after graduating from Seneca. To be considered for the Honours Bachelor of Commerce college transfer program, Seneca graduates must have the following courses in their background:

Two semesters of: Accounting (Financial* and Managerial), Communications (Business Writing and Presentation), Economics (Micro* & Macro*), Computing & Information Systems I* & II, Corporate Finance (not personal or financial accounting), Marketing, Statistics*

One semester of: Administration/Management*, Human Resources Management/Industrial Relations, Production/Operations Management

*Note: If you have a deficiency in the listed areas, you will be required to complete a makeup course. The courses with an asterisk must be completed prior to the start of the program in September. Seneca Program: Environmental Technician, Environmental Technology

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry, Honours Bachelor of Environmental Management

Graduates of Seneca’s Environmental Technician or Technology diploma programs with a minimum final average of 70% in their final year will be considered for admission to the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry program or the Honours Bachelor of Environmental Management program at the Thunder Bay Campus. Both programs can be completed in approximately two years. All incoming students will be required to successfully complete a four-week summer transition program. The summer transition program normally begins during the last week of July.


Seneca Program: Social Service Worker – Immigrants & Refugees, Social Service Worker – Gerontology, Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Care

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Social Work

Graduates of Seneca’s Child & Youth Care or Social Service Worker diploma programs with a minimum final average of 70% will be considered for admission to the second year of the Honours Bachelor of Social Work program at the Thunder Bay or the Orillia campuses.


Seneca Program: Early Childhood Education

Degree: Concurrent Education

Graduates of Seneca’s Early Childhood Education diploma with a minimum overall average of 75% may be eligible for up to one year of transfer credit at the Thunder Bay or the Orillia campuses.


Seneca Program: Police Foundations

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology)

Graduates of Seneca’s Police Foundations diploma with a minimum overall average of 70% will be considered for admission into the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (Criminology) program. The program can be completed in three years at the Orillia Campus.


Seneca Program: Environmental Technology

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Science (Water Resource Science)

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Environmental Technology diploma with a minimum average of 75% will be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Science (Water Resource Science Major) program. The program can be completed in two years at the Thunder Bay Campus.


Seneca Program: Environmental Technology

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Environmental Science (Biology), Honours Bachelor of Environmental Science (Geography) program

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Environmental Technology diploma with a minimum average of 75% will be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Environmental Science (Biology Major) at the Thunder Bay Campus. The program can be completed in two years.

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Environmental Technology diploma with a minimum average of 75% will be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Environmental Science (Geography Major) at the Thunder Bay Campus. The program can be completed in two years.


Seneca Program: Environmental Technology

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science (Environmental Sustainability)

Graduates of a three-year diploma program in Environmental Technology, with a minimum average of 75%, may be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science (Environmental Sustainability) program offered at the Orillia Campus.


Seneca Program: Biotechnology – Advanced

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Science (Applied Life Sciences)

Graduates of Seneca’s three-year Biotechnology diploma with a minimum average of 75% will be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Science (Applied Life Sciences Major) program at the Thunder Bay or the Orillia campuses. The program can be completed in two years.


Seneca Program: Arts & Science – University Transfer, Liberal Arts University Transfer

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major) or Bachelor of Arts & Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major)

Graduates from these two-year diploma programs, with a minimum average of 70%, may be considered for admission into the third year of the Bachelor of Arts and Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major), or into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major) at the Orillia Campus. All applicants will need to complete a certain number of specific courses from a variety of subject areas in their college program. The criteria are:

For the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major) program:

  • at least two (2) one semester courses of: math, science, geography or introductory
    psychology
  • at least one (1) one semester course in: Inquiry Methods or Senior Academic Research
  • at least two (2) one semester college courses of advanced academic content
  • at least two (2) introductory one semester college courses in two (2) of the following areas: anthropology, biology, English literature, geography, general science, history, political science, psychology and sociology

For the Bachelor of Arts and Science (Interdisciplinary Studies Major) program:

  • at least two (2) one semester courses of: math, science, geography, or introductory psychology
  • at least one (1) one semester course in: Inquiry Methods or Senior Academic Research
  • at least two (2) one semester college courses of advanced academic content
  • at least two (2) introductory one semester college courses in one (1) of the following areas: anthropology, biology, English literature, geography, general science, history, political science, psychology and sociology

Applicants who are lacking certain course content will be required to complete additional courses at Lakehead University.

All applicants must complete two (2) university-level full credits during the spring/summer term at Lakehead University.


Seneca Program: Arts & Science – University Transfer, Liberal Arts University Transfer

Degree: Bachelor of Arts (General Major)

Graduates from these two-year diploma programs with a minimum average of 70%, may be considered for admission into the third year of the Bachelor of Arts (General Major) at the Thunder Bay or Orillia campuses provided they have completed at least two (2) one semester courses of advanced academic content.

All applicants must complete two (2) university-level full credits during the spring/summer term at Lakehead University.

Applicants who have taken more than the minimum number of advanced level or second-year university courses as part of their college program may be eligible to receive up to two (2) university-level full credits of advanced standing.


Seneca Program: Graphic Design

Degree: Honours Bachelor of Arts & Science (Media, Film and Communications Major)

Graduates from a three-year Graphic Design program from an Ontario college, with a minimum average of 70%, will be considered for admission into the third year of the Honours Bachelor of Arts and Science (Media, Film and Communications Major) at the Orillia Campus. All applicants must complete 1.5 university-level full credits during the spring/summer term at Lakehead University.
