At Carleton University we offer many academic programs within the arts and sciences, but we also have innovative and competitive programs in architecture, business, cognitive science, communications and media studies, computer science, economics, engineering, global and international studies, health sciences, humanities, industrial design, information technology, journalism, mathematics, music, public affairs, and social work.
Admission and advanced standing
When you apply, your previous studies will automatically be assessed for advanced standing into a Carleton program. To be considered for transfer credits, students must complete at least three terms of full-time study with a cumulative average of B.

Transfer student support
We want you to feel at home in the Carleton community! To help with your transition, we offer a number of support programs aimed specifically at transfer students. The Transfer Student Peer Mentor Program matches incoming students with former transfer students to share experiences and provide support. At the Academic Advising Centre, students can receive assistance on how to read and understand your degree audit and how to change your program elements. Another great tool is the Transfer and Mature Student Transition Program to help students learn about Carleton University’s academic support services, participate in a panel and an open session on the transfer student experience, and tour campus.
