Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, Ryerson University is Canada’s leader in innovative, career-relevant learning. Distinctly urban, Ryerson boasts Canada’s most culturally diverse campus and a vibrant student life, ensuring that all Ryerson students are supported throughout their studies – both inside and outside of the classroom – to make their mark.
Third year Business Management student, Alysia Harji, is a perfect example of a student making her mark at Ryerson. Upon completing an Advanced Diploma at Seneca College, Harji transferred to the Ted Rogers School of Management to work towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Though she was initially nervous about maintaining her strong Seneca GPA, Harij explains that she “was able to do great in my first term at Ryerson due to the engaging lectures, helpful professors, and a good studying method.”
Harji also works on-campus as a marketing assistant and content developer for the Office of the Dean, noting that the opportunity has “allowed me to gain work experience within my field, which I love.” This experience is exactly what Harji was looking for when choosing a transfer destination. “I knew [Ryerson] would be the right place for me” she explains, “(…) it offers experiential learning, smaller class sizes, great location, resources and the program I wanted - I knew it would make the transition from college to university smooth and easier!”
Ryerson recognizes the achievements of Seneca College graduates by offering a variety of fast-tracking options towards degree completion. Details regarding transfer credits and answers to questions regarding how your Seneca program transfers to Ryerson can be viewed online, either on your particular program page of interest or via the transfer students’ webpage.
To find out if Ryerson is a good fit for your academic and career goals, contact us or visit us on campus! We’d love the opportunity to show you around our distinctly urban campus on a campus tour or at one of our upcoming events.
Once you’re here, Harji recommends the following: “get involved as much as you can in student life on campus, stay on top of your readings, and study hard. Seneca has prepared you well for this transition - but you need to work hard if you want to do well! Take advantage of every opportunity! Get involved in some of our great student groups, take advantage of Ryerson's student resources, or try out the work study program!”
