Program Description

Seneca's Green Business Management focuses on the long-term economic, environmental and social value of sustainable business strategy. Our mission is to provide the management skills and practical applied tools to enable you to drive sustainability initiatives forward in organizations. The GBM program enhances the change leadership and management skills required to help organizations successfully adapt to new economic realities and integrate environmentally and socially sustainable initiatives into their operations. You will gain the project management and finance skills needed to contribute to building sustainability into an organization's bottom-line, creating greater value.

Focus on the inevitable growing global need for managers with sustainability expertise whose skills will be required by organizations as they adapt to fast changing economic and environmental realities. You'll engage in topics that include the development and implementation of economically viable sustainability strategies and initiatives, sustainable entrepreneurship, measures and the evaluation of carbon footprints, "lean" business practice applied to sustainability, finance and project management. As a student in this program you'll have access to our HELIX innovation incubator (senecacollege.ca/helix). At the end of the program you'll have the opportunity to do a 5-6 week work placement (May/June) with a company or organization, where you'll apply your skills to a project.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility:

  • A recognized degree or three-year postsecondary diploma from an accredited institution; OR
  • Mature applicants 3 to 5 years of documented work experience in a related field may be considered. Relevant résumé and references must be provided.
  • English proficiency at the postsecondary level.

Upon graduation, you will be uniquely positioned for a meaningful career in business, handling specific duties related to driving an organizations' social, environmental and economic performance.

Transfer Credit/Pathways

The Degree and Credit Transfer Office provides a number of services for students continuing their education at Seneca, and for graduating students considering degree transfer options.

Through transfer agreements and institution partnerships, graduates of this Seneca College program may be eligible for credit at various post-secondary institutions. Please refer to the Degree Transfer Guide for more information.

Transfer Credit may be granted for courses deemed equivalent to courses at Seneca that have been completed at recognized postsecondary institutions. Additional information is available online.
