Program Description

Seneca’s Sustainable Business Management focuses on the long term economic, environmental and social value of sustainable business strategy. Our mission is to provide both the applied management and project skills,  as well as measurement tools to enable you to develop, propose, and drive sustainability initiatives in organizations.

Focus on the inevitable growing global need for managers with sustainability expertise whose skills will be required by organizations as they adapt to fast changing economic and environmental realities. You'll engage in topics that include the development and implementation of economically viable sustainability strategies and initiatives, sustainable entrepreneurship, measures and the evaluation of carbon footprints, "lean" business practice applied to sustainability, finance and project management. As a student in this program you'll have access to our HELIX innovation incubator (senecacollege.ca/helix). At the end of the program you'll have the opportunity to do a 5-6 week work placement (May/June) with a company or organization, where you'll apply your skills to a project.

Admission Requirements

Program Eligibility:

  • A recognized degree or three-year postsecondary diploma from an accredited institution; OR
  • Mature applicants 3 to 5 years of documented work experience in a related field may be considered. Relevant résumé and references must be provided.
  • English proficiency at the postsecondary level.

Upon graduation, you will be uniquely positioned for a meaningful career in business, handling specific duties related to driving an organizations' social, environmental and economic performance.

Work-Integrated Learning - Optional

Optional Work Term

Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional work term(s) in a formal work environment. The work term(s) is similar in length to an academic semester and typically involves full-time work hours that may be paid or unpaid. In programs with limited work term opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

Transfer Credit/Pathways

The Degree and Credit Transfer Office provides a number of services for students continuing their education at Seneca, and for graduating students considering degree transfer options.

Through transfer agreements and institution partnerships, graduates of this Seneca College program may be eligible for credit at various post-secondary institutions. Please refer to the Degree Transfer Guide for more information.

Transfer Credit may be granted for courses deemed equivalent to courses at Seneca that have been completed at recognized postsecondary institutions. Additional information is available online.
