Director, Rest of World

Marnie leads a team of managers and recruiters who promote Seneca College abroad to students who wish to study in Canada. Marnie’s team is currently comprised of 4 recruiters who attend International study abroad fairs, work with agents and connect with stakeholders throughout their regions to bring qualified International students from across SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, and Africa), Europe, Americas and the Caribbean to Seneca College. Marnie’s team is also comprised of two Toronto based team members who provide vital administrative support to her, the regional recruiters and assist with agent relations and finance.

Marnie previously worked in Canadian Federal politics, including running as a candidate in the 2015 Federal election. She also has extensive experience in public relations and International business, lived in Panama for many years, is fluent in English and Spanish, and is a graduate of Queen’s University.


Associate Director, Rest of World

Charbel is our new Associate Director who joins our Seneca International ‘Rest of World’ Team. You may have crossed paths with Charbel in his previous role with Languages Canada. 

Charbel looks forward to seeing many of you as he travels occasionally to your markets to continually improve our relationship with you. We are confident, Charbel will add another layer of success to our growing Seneca Team.

Charbel is fluent in English and Spanish and has some French knowledge.


Regional Development Manager, Brazil & Caribbean

Renata is a Business Development Manager for the Americas and Caribbean regions. Her job at Seneca is to plan and carry out all international recruitment efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean. Renata’s favorite part about the job is meeting with students, parents and educational agents. That means she has the privilege to assist students in figuring out what they would like to study, what requirements they need to meet to apply, and everything else they may need on their way to Seneca.

Renata is originally from Brazil and was once an international student. Renata graduated from a two-year Business Accounting diploma program and started to work right away. She understands and believes in the importance of experiential learning and the difference it makes when looking for a job. Her experience as an international student and her business skills led her to a career in international education: she has a total of six years of experience in international student recruitment. She is always more than happy to assist students in Portuguese or Spanish.


Regional Business Development Manager, South Asia, Israel

Svetlana Obukhova immigrated to Canada from Uzbekistan in 2004. Since then she has had the opportunity to work in various sectors of the Canadian economy – Real Estate Development, Hospitality, Government and Education. This wide range of professional experience has taught Svetlana a multitude of skills and traits that she proudly applies at Seneca International.

Being surrounded with a beautifully diverse student culture and watching new students succeed are Svetlana’s favorite aspects of her job. Svetlana is fluent in English and Russian.


Regional Business Development Manager, Latin America & Caribbean

In an effort to continually improve our communication and responsiveness, we are pleased to welcome Berani Yance, who will be our new Business Development Manager for the Americas & Caribbean. Berani is fluent in English and Spanish and will be recruiting (primarily) in Latin America & the Caribbean. 

Berani is enjoying travelling for Seneca throughout Latin America and looks forward to meeting you on the road.


Regional Business Development Manager, Turkey, Mauritius, Europe & Africa

Jacobo is a proven professional with more than 5 years of experience in international recruitment. Jacobo has previous experience working for educational institutions and makes every effort to provide international students with the very best experience possible throughout their studies. 

Jacobo will plan and carry out all international recruitment efforts in Western and Central Europe as well as in and around Africa including Turkey and Mauritius. He enjoys the challenge of meeting new students and helping them to achieve their goals.

Jacobo is fluent in English and Spanish and is always more than happy to assist you.



International Office Coordinator, Europe and Americas

Deborah began her career at Seneca working part-time with Seneca International in January 2014, and is currently working as Office Coordinator, supporting the Business Development team for Europe & the Americas and the Study Abroad office. Deborah oversees and coordinates recruitment event activities and assists her team with overseas meetings and conferences. She also coaches agents on college procedures, rules and policies, and coordinates study abroad trips by validating, processing and collecting student and faculty information. In addition, Deborah prepares and delivers pre-departure materials and orientations to Seneca students and staff going abroad as well as to groups arriving from abroad.

Deborah graduated from Seneca’s International Business diploma program with High Honors. Apart from her Seneca diploma, Deborah also earned a Bachelor of Computer Sciences degree. Previously, Deborah worked in multinational companies, with more than seven years of experience in financial, administrative, and computer analyst positions.


Office Coordinator, South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Turkey & Iran

Assisting agencies and students from SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, Africa), Iran and Turkey, Shirley is the Office Coordinator supporting the Director, Marnie MacDougall, the Managers Business Development, Khaled El-Hennawy and Svetlana Obukhova.

Shirley is the senior administrative support responsible for the management of the Agency Portal, the international website, social media, CRM and the international student ambassadors. She is committed to helping in-country educational agencies/partners and is the welcome voice to answer questions.

Shirley holds a diploma in the Legal Assistant program and has taken courses in Webpage Design and Travel and Tourism. She is fluent in English and Tagalog (Philippines) and has some understanding of French and Spanish. A member of the International team since 1997, Shirley has been a committed Senecan for over 20 years.


International Agency Coordinator

Gina has been working at Seneca for more than 20 years. She first started as an International Admissions Advisor, and then joined the International Student Development team as the Agency Coordinator. Gina acts as a first-point-of-contact for agents from all over the world. She assists agents, provides admission advisement and works collaboratively with the offices of International Admissions, Registration and International Student Development.  Gina’s role as an advocate for international students via their agents allows Seneca to keep and enrich their agent partnerships.


International Social Media Specialist

Carolina began her career at Seneca as a Co-Op student and is currently working as a part-time being responsible to all Seneca International Social Media platforms. She also provides the guidance and coordinates regional networks with student ambassadors. She graduated from Brand Management post-graduate certificate program and is currently taking her second one in Social Media. Besides Seneca, Carolina worked in a multinational company for over 7 years having the opportunity to experience departments such as Project Management, Product Content, and Market Research.


Communications Assistant

Aneri Rathod is our communications assistant who helps us with our writing and coordination needs.

Aneri has experience working in the public relations industry. At Seneca, Aneri graduated from our Public Relations-Corporate Communication program and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Sustainable Business Management.
