Business Development Manager, Middle East & Africa

Khaled is a Business Development Manager for the African continent and Middle East Region. He manages a network of authorized Seneca agents and works with students who wish to enter post-secondary education in Canada, whether they are interested in ESL, diploma, degree or post-graduate programs. Khaled is involved with student/faculty exchanges and the search for joint venture projects and training contract opportunities. He is based in Cairo, Egypt, but is available at Seneca’s Newnham Campus in Toronto during the months of August to September and December to January.

Before joining Seneca, Khaled worked in hotel management as a Marketing Director for an Egyptian hotel chain and lectured on international marketing for the Hospitality Industry. Khaled has a degree in Business Administration majoring in International Marketing from Cairo University, is fluent in English and Arabic and has a working knowledge of French. He also has a great interest in music. Khaled earned a certificate in Music from Trinity College of Music London-UK, and taught music theory and Guitar.



Regional Development Mnager, Americas & Caribbean

Renata is a Business Development Manager for the Americas and Caribbean regions. Her job at Seneca is to plan and carry out all international recruitment efforts in Latin America and the Caribbean. Renata’s favorite part about the job is meeting with students, parents and educational agents. That means she has the privilege to assist students in figuring out what they would like to study, what requirements they need to meet to apply, and everything else they may need on their way to Seneca.

Renata is originally from Brazil and was once an international student. Renata graduated from a two-year Business Accounting diploma program and started to work right away. She understands and believes in the importance of experiential learning and the difference it makes when looking for a job. Her experience as an international student and her business skills led her to a career in international education: she has a total of six years of experience in international student recruitment. She is always more than happy to assist students in Portuguese or Spanish.



Regional Business Development Manager

Svetlana Obukhova immigrated to Canada from Uzbekistan in 2004. Since then she has had the opportunity to work in various sectors of the Canadian economy – Real Estate Development, Hospitality, Government and Education. This wide range of professional experience has taught Svetlana a multitude of skills and traits that she proudly applies at Seneca International.

Being surrounded with a beautifully diverse student culture and watching new students succeed are Svetlana’s favorite aspects of her job.



International Office Coordinator, Europe and Americas

Deborah began her career at Seneca working part-time with Seneca International in January 2014, and is currently working as Office Coordinator, supporting the Business Development team for Europe & the Americas and the Study Abroad office. Deborah oversees and coordinates recruitment event activities and assists her team with overseas meetings and conferences. She also coaches agents on college procedures, rules and policies, and coordinates study abroad trips by validating, processing and collecting student and faculty information. In addition, Deborah prepares and delivers pre-departure materials and orientations to Seneca students and staff going abroad as well as to groups arriving from abroad.

Deborah graduated from Seneca’s International Business diploma program with High Honors. Apart from her Seneca diploma, Deborah also earned a Bachelor of Computer Sciences degree. Previously, Deborah worked in multinational companies, with more than seven years of experience in financial, administrative, and computer analyst positions.



Office Coordinator, South Asia, Middle East, Africa, Turkey & Iran

Assisting agencies and students from SAMEA (South Asia, Middle East, Africa), Iran and Turkey, Shirley is the Office Coordinator supporting the Director, Marnie MacDougall, the Managers Business Development, Khaled El-Hennawy and Svetlana Obukhova.

Shirley is the senior administrative support responsible for the management of the Agency Portal, the international website, social media, CRM and the international student ambassadors. She is committed to helping in-country educational agencies/partners and is the welcome voice to answer questions.

Shirley holds a diploma in the Legal Assistant program and has taken courses in Webpage Design and Travel and Tourism. She is fluent in English and Tagalog (Philippines) and has some understanding of French and Spanish. A member of the International team since 1997, Shirley has been a committed Senecan for over 20 years.



International Agency Coordinator

Gina has been working at Seneca for more than 20 years. She first started as an International Admissions Advisor, and then joined the International Student Development team as the Agency Coordinator. Gina acts as a first-point-of-contact for agents from all over the world. She assists agents, provides admission advisement and works collaboratively with the offices of International Admissions, Registration and International Student Development.  Gina’s role as an advocate for international students via their agents allows Seneca to keep and enrich their agent partnerships.
