Bio:

Former refugee, Francisco Rico-Martinez has dedicated his life in Canada to refugee advocacy and support for victims of human rights violations. Rico-Martinez is the former president of the Canadian Council for Refugees (CCR) and is currently the co-director of FCJ Refugee Centre. Recognized for his efforts in social justice, his awards include the Community Leadership in Justice Fellowship from the Ontario Law Foundation, the William P. Hubbard Race Relations Award from the City of Toronto and the YMCA Peace Medallion.

Francisco Rico-Martinez has provided expert commentary for the Toronto Star, Forterietimes.ca, Metro News and The Agenda with Steve Paikin.
