Seneca wins at technology skills competition

Students from Seneca’s Centre for Advanced Technologies took home three medals from the Ontario Technological Skills Competition (OTSC)—the largest skilled trades competition in Canada. One of our students won gold, while two others won silver.

The event, sponsored by Skills Canada - Ontario, took place May 2 and 3 in Waterloo. It involved more than 1,500 students from across Ontario who tested their skills and abilities against industry standards in over 40 skilled trades contests.

This marks the third consecutive year that Seneca has medaled at this competition.

Seneca’s 2011 medalists are:

  • Andrew Coulas (Mechanical Techniques - CNC Programming) —Gold — Computer Aided Manufacturing category
  • Melad Yousif (Mechanical Techniques - CNC Programming) — Silver — Computer Aided Manufacturing category
  • Fadi Patros (Mechanical Engineering Technology - Industrial Design) — Silver — Mechanical Computer Assisted Design and Drafting category
