Seneca News

Seneca, we don’t talk often, you and I, heart to heart. School is busy, work is nonstop and life is sometimes frightful like the weather outside.

But on Wednesday, Jan. 30, Bell Let’s Talk Day, we should talk. We can talk. To friends and family. To classmates and professors. To co-workers and strangers waiting in line for a coffee.

From 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., we can show our support for mental health by visiting one of the information booths on campus:

  • King Campus: Garriock Hall
  • Markham Campus: Cafeteria
  • Newnham Campus: Library hallway
  • Seneca@York Campus: Learning Commons hallway

Go on. Write down your thoughts. Take a health quiz. Grab a wellness kit. Pledge your support. Share on social.

And listen. Listen to what others have to say.

But our talk doesn’t have to end there. If you feel like talking any other day, we are here for you. Take a seat on the yellow Friendship Bench on campus. Visit the Counselling & Accessibility Services office. Let’s talk to keep the conversation going and fight the stigma of mental health.

So, Seneca, how are you today?
