PR students earn Star coverage

Students from the Public Relations - Corporate Communications program garnered some well-earned media attention Tuesday from Canada's largest daily newspaper. Twenty-one students from Professor David Turnbull’s public speaking class were at Nathan Phillips Square in the morning to deliver their final speeches for the course. All semester long, the students had been practicing at different locations throughout the city in preparation for this day. The students were tasked with delivering a speech on their hireability in exactly 272 words. They also worked together as a group to gain media coverage for their speeches. In the end, their efforts paid off as the Toronto Star attended and captured what they had to say.
