New road construction set to begin at Markham Campus
York Region is creating a new overpass north of Markham Campus to provide another way to cross over Hwy. 404 and relieve traffic on Hwy. 7. The project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2018.
The project will create three new roadways:
- The north entrance of the campus will become a four-lane road and connect to the new overpass.
- A road will be created to provide access to the overpass from Hwy. 7. It will pass through the area currently used as a sports field.
- A new northbound onramp to Hwy. 404 from Hwy. 7 will also be created.
Construction activity will begin in the coming weeks. There will, at times, be disruptions to traffic on and off campus. Updates will be posted on My.Seneca, Facebook and Twitter.
