Seneca students hit the airwaves
Five Broadcasting - Radio students have taken to the airwaves in Canada’s most competitive radio market.
Jeremy Buch, Matt Lucchetta, Matthew Goulet, Natasha Shivraj and Tom Kustra can be heard weekly on KISS 92.5 in Toronto. Since January, the students have been behind the microphone, hosting overnight shifts from the station’s downtown studio.
The opportunity to be on air was presented to them through GenNOW, a new partnership between Seneca and Rogers Media that gives students in their final year of the Broadcasting - Radio program the chance to complete a four-month internship at KISS 92.5, while simultaneously earning a course credit.
As part of their internship, the students also receive access to mentoring sessions from KISS 92.5 on-air hosts and production staff, as well as receiving feedback from their Professor and Co-ordinator, Jim Carr.
Tune in to KISS 92.5 Monday to Friday, from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. to hear Seneca's students in action.
