Teaching & Learning is offering workshops this semester on web conferencing, digital assignments, creating videos, remixing videos, and finding free images and music online that you can use.

Introduction to Web Conferencing with Blackboard Collaborate

Learn how to schedule and book a Blackboard Collaborate Web conferencing session and how to moderate a session. Key features of the system will be demonstrated including chat, whiteboard, video and audio connectivity, polling, and application sharing. In addition, we’ll discuss pedagogical uses of Web conferencing.

Video is an  amazing teaching tool and thousands are created by educators every day. So what are you waiting for? Believe it or not, really good instructional videos are easy to create. In part one of the series, you will learn how to use PowerPoint to create a narrated video with animations.

The wealth of streaming media at our fingertips is not simply convenient – it also opens up a world of interactivity and creativity. The best news is you can start remixing content straight from your browser, and for FREE!
At this session, you’ll learn how to: insert images, annotations, pop-ups, and hyperlinks into online videos; remix web audio and video content; create an online quiz based on a stre p.m.ing clip.

Finding Free (and Legal!) Images and Music Online

There are many resources available online for free these days, but how do you find materials that are legal and free? This session will explore a variety of trustworthy sites offering royalty-free materials. We will also demonstrate how to download and customize images, as well as make your own creations available online royalty-free with a Creative Commons license.
