Term Work: In Class/Lab Group Exercises/ Case Analysis Students may be assigned Group Business Planning Exercises
that apply
the concepts learned in the required reading to developing some aspect
of a business plan for a new venture including roles and
responsibilities
of group members. In some instances, case analysis and scenario
based critical thinking skills will
be practiced. This,
or similar types of group work, will constitute 20% of the final
grade. The marks for this portion of your evaluation will be
distributed throughout the term. Those who attend class will
benefit the most from this portion. Group Contract: Term work marks may be allowed for this activity. It may
also form the basis of your peer evaluation that has a value of 5%
(this will be discussed further in class). When you
take the time to create a meaningful contract document as outlined by
your professor, your team will
more likely be rewarded in the end with a better-prepared Business
Plan.
You will have benefitted from the managerial/leadership aspects of
the exercise as well as the guidance it will offer when team activities
go awry.
