Violations and Appeals

Parking Violations

  • Expired tickets
  • Parking in accessible parking spots without permit
  • Triple parking
  • Parking in bus and fire routes
  • Parking on walkways
  • Parking on hash marks or any other restricted area
  • Parking on roadways
  • Parking outside of designated parking spots including taking up two parking spots

Note: Parking fines are based on municipal parking infraction rates

Appeals

"Parking Infraction Notices" are issued by the municipality and appeals must follow the process identified on the back of the ticket issued.

Traffic Violations

  • Tailgating — $500 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
  • Barrier lifts — $250 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
  • Driving over curbs and grass — $250 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
  • Driving through walkways — $250 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
  • Driving through a stop sign — $250 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
  • Entering through an exit and exiting through an entrance — $250 plus damages and any associated equipment repairs
Appeals

If you have received a traffic violation notice, this fine has been issued by Seneca College.

Please note tickets must be paid prior to an appeal being considered. If you would like to appeal your traffic violation, you have five business days in which to submit an appeal form.

Appeals will not be granted for any of the following reasons:

  • “I didn’t know.”
  • “I can’t afford the fine.”
  • “I didn’t see the tailgating or speed signs.”
  • “I was in a hurry.”
  • “I forgot my wallet.”
  • “I saw someone else do it.”
  • “I wasn’t the one driving.”
