Pre-Health Sciences Pathway to Advanced Diplomas and Degrees

Program Description

This program is designed to provide students with the core knowledge, skills and abilities fundamental to academic success in health sciences and other high affinity programs by developing their knowledge and skills in communications, mathematics, human anatomy, biology, and organic/inorganic chemistry, so they are well prepared for the rigors of further study in the health sciences at either the diploma or baccalaureate level. The program also provides students with the opportunity to learn about potential careers in the health sciences, and to identify other programs focusing on the biological or chemical sciences that will enable them to achieve their career objectives.

Your Career

Take the science, mathematics and English courses you need to be eligible for application to the Nursing – Collaborative BScN Degree program with Seneca College/ York University or the Practical Nursing program. Pre-Health students may not meet the admission requirements to other postsecondary institutions. If you wish to further your career at an institution other than Seneca, please check that institution’s admission requirements.

Program Eligibility

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with:
    • Grade 12 English: ENG4(C) or ENG4(U)
    • Grade 12 Mathematics: (C) or (U)
  • OR Mature Student Status (age 19 or older) with the above prerequisite course(s), their equivalent(s), or appropriate Academic and Career Entrance (ACE) Certificate program credits (see Academic Upgrading).

Program Details

The Degree and Credit Transfer Office provides a number of services for students continuing their education at Seneca, and for graduating students considering degree transfer options.

Through transfer agreements and institution partnerships, graduates of this Seneca College program may be eligible for credit at various post-secondary institutions. Please refer to the Degree Transfer Guide for more information.

Transfer Credit may be granted for courses deemed equivalent to courses at Seneca that have been completed at recognized postsecondary institutions. Additional information is available online.
