Applying to Seneca
STEP 1: Once you’ve chosen your program(s) you should check
- if you meet the admission requirements (see Related Information links, right)
- program availability
STEP 2: Go to the Ontario Colleges website
ontariocolleges.ca handles all the applications for Ontario’s colleges.
They’ll ask you to:
- create an account
- select your program
- pay the application fee
STEP 3: Transcripts
Ontario high school students don’t need to send transcripts. Speak to your guidance office, and they will forward your grades. Out-of-province students will need to send an official transcript, and there’s information on the Ontario Colleges website about that.
If your final Grade 12 marks are not available when you apply, you may obtain early conditional acceptance on the basis of your Grade 12 mid-term grades or final Grade 11 grades. This early conditional acceptance is granted on the condition that you will be successful in the Grade 12 final evaluation or examinations, and will obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma at the end of the academic year.
STEP 4: Seneca will acknowledge receipt of your application using the email address you provided on your application
It is important to keep your contact information up to date so that Seneca may contact you during the admissions process with information about activating your applicant portal.

STEP 5: Inform ontariocolleges.ca that you are accepting Seneca’s offer of admission
The offer expiry date is on your letter. Your username and password will be required to log in to your online ontariocolleges.ca account. You will be able to review our offer of admission and confirm the program of your choice.
STEP 6: Check Seneca’s Admissions Acceptance Guide
Once you have confirmed your acceptance, review Seneca’s Admissions Acceptance Guide for important information on
- paying your tuition fees
- skills assessment
- student loans and financial aid
- and more!
