The Centre for the Built Environment

The Centre for the Built Environment comprises the School of Civil Engineering Technology, the School of Fire Protection Engineering Technology, Building Environmental Systems and the Energy Training Office.

Graduates of the School of Civil Engineering Technology are involved in the planning, design, and construction of major infrastructure and services including roads, tunnels, bridges, water supplies, buildings, and new communities.

Seneca´s Fire Protection Technology Programs are a North American benchmark in providing a comprehensive fire protection education combining the best aspects of both prevention and fire suppression.

Public and private organizations challenged by the need to affirm progressive procedures and standards in the area of quality building management have a marvelous resource in the Building Environmental systems (BES) program. It incorporates best management practices in areas such as air quality, water and energy use efficiency, waste management, ozone depleting substances and greenhouse gas emissions, all within the framework of a building´s heating, refrigeration, air handling, water treatment and electrical systems.

The Energy Training Office has partnerships with colleges and institutions throughout Canada the operation and maintenance of energy efficient and economically productive buildings in all sectors including commercial centres, public facilities, and large scale residences.
