Child Development Degree (Co-op)
The Child Development Degree (Co-op) provides you with the comprehensive theoretical and practical education employers want. This four-year bachelor’s degree program will give you a firm grounding in teaching and curriculum subjects, in early childhood development, as well as familiarity in multidisciplinary and family practice. You’ll be equipped to succeed within the industry’s new direction towards integration of services and programs focusing on the child, the family and the community.
Child Development Practitioner
The Child Development Practitioner apprenticeship program is designed for people already working in the ECE field who wish to pursue formal studies and receive certification. Child Development Child Development Practitioner apprentices are required to take 22 modules of in-school training. This training is completed part-time (generally night classes) and in a full time spring/summer 7-week option.
Early Childhood Education (Accelerated, Newnham)
Early Childhood Education (Accelerated, Newnham) is for students with an undergraduate degree from a post-secondary institution in Ontario or have a degree evaluated for Canadian equivalency. You may be eligible to earn an accelerated Early Childhood Education diploma in three semesters.
Early Childhood Education
As a student in the Early Childhood Education, you’ll learn about the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional needs of children. You’ll also learn the skills and knowledge necessary for planning and carrying out programming which optimizes individual development of young children.
Infant and Early Child Mental Health
The two semester Infant and Early Child Mental Health Graduate Certificate prepares front line service providers with the skills and qualifications to provide mental health support to infants, children, and their families. The combination of theoretical and practical course content provides students with the knowledge, skills, and judgment to contribute to positive mental health when working with infants, children, families, or in community settings.
