Co-op term leads to full-time employment

As soon as Anna Chang graduated from the Tourism and Travel program, she accepted a job offer from Trafalgar Tours. Anna, a Supervisor for the travel company, was offered the job because she had experience with the company during a co-operative, or co-op, work period in her program.

Seneca co-ops are either mandatory or optional, depending on the program, and getting ready for them means preparing resumés, checking job postings and going for interviews.

Anna says it was an invaluable experience.

“Travel and tourism is my passion, but I wouldn’t have known that without the opportunity to apply what I learned in class,” she says. “Co-op helped me find my niche.”
