Recreation and Environmental Studies
The School of Recreation and Environmental Studies offers a number of programs that provide you with hands-on experience in a variety of areas, including: recreation program planning and activity leadership, recreation site and facilities management, adaptive recreation and activation for special populations, therapeutic recreation assessment and intervention, as well as landscaping and horticulture.
Students have not only opportunities for field placements and/or co-operative work terms, but they engage in real-life experiential and hands-on opportunities for learning within courses in their respective programs. In the past, students have engaged in projects such as the construction of an outdoor classroom on the King campus, the naturalization of a section of land to indigenous prairie grasses, the planning and running of a winter carnival at the King campus, as well as participation in therapeutic recreation applied research projects.
SCHOOL OF RECREATION programs are located at Seneca’s King Campus.
