Paralegal students win prestigious Osgoode Cup

Royanne Reid

Jen Lorestani and Kate Brklacich, fourth semester Paralegal students, are winners of this year’s Osgoode Cup National Undergraduate Mooting Competition.

They are the first college students to ever win the 12-year-old contest.

Pictured above, Jen, left, and Kate, right, competed against 105 teams by presenting an appeal to a panel of judges, focusing on specific legal issues.

Fellow students Anoop Kalsi and Sasha Portnoy reached the quarter-final round, and Robin Skinner and Karen Vuong also competed. The students were coached by Ashlyn O’Mara, pictured centre above, Gary Bowers and Sandra Kingston.
