Charlotte Li showcases winning design at the Royal Ontario Museum
School of Fashion student Charlotte Li has taken home the third place title in the White Cashmere Collection 2017: National Student Design Competition.
More than 150 students from 11 schools across Canada took part in the 14th annual competition that saw participants design bathroom tissue couture reflecting true Canadian style, in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. Charlotte was among 16 finalists who showcased her design talents on the runway at the Royal Ontario Museum. Fellow School of Fashion student Nagat Bahumaid was also one of the finalists in the competition.
Charlotte’s design, shown to the right, paid homage to Annie Edson Taylor, the 63-year-old woman who successfully barrelled over Niagara Falls in 1901.

More than 275 guests, including many of Canada’s top fashion industry leaders, influencers, designers and the media attended the runway show. The annual collection highlights the Canadian company, Cashmere, and its commitment to supporting a vision of a future without breast cancer while nurturing the nation’s fashion design community.
